The ridge route

To be discovered on foot, by bike or by car

It will take you less than 20 minutes to reach the Route des Crêtes from the hotel, restaurant & coffee shop Influences. This magnificent panoramic road passes by the Hohneck, the Col de la Schlucht and the highest point of the Vosges massif: the Grand Ballon, at 1,424 m.

The route was built during the First World War and today offers magnificent views of lakes, valleys and peaks. You can even see the Alps and the Black Forest from some parts of the route. Perhaps you will be lucky enough to spot chamois on the steep mountain slopes?

Take advantage of your walk to stop at the Grand Ballon and admire the breathtaking view, or at the Hohneck massif for unforgettable hikes between the Vosges and Alsace valleys. In summer for its outdoor activities such as rail sledging, mountain biking or miniature golf, or in winter for its slopes adapted to all levels, the Markstein resort is also a must-see.

This 73 km road is only open from the end of April to the end of October.
